Although the festivities were scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., people started to arrive by 5:30 p.m. By 7:00 p.m. everyone who said they were going to attend were in attendance.

One of our class members (Lura Silvaggi) had a nephew who was a professional photographer and agreed to take a group picture for just the cost of the delivered pictures. He arrived at about 6:30 p.m. to discuss where and how the picture was to be taken. We decided that the best place would be the front of the American Legion building. At 7:10 p.m. all the alumni gathered in the front of the building and the photographer took the picture, with a promise to return the 5 by 7 photographs to everyone who wanted one before the evening was over. He returned by 8:30 p.m. with the finished and framed pictures.

The dinner started at approximately 7:30 p.m. I officiated the event. After a few words welcoming everyone, and acknowledging the presence of our special guests, our Principal, Dr. Earl Stubbe and his wife, Carol, and our Art Teacher, Mrs. Lois Byers Hamilton, I asked for a moments silence for the class members who had died over the years:

After a moment of silence, a blessing was offered.

After we had all eaten, I asked Mrs. Hamilton and Dr. Stubbe for any comments they wish to make.

A CD of the top 13 hits of 1955 and the top 13 hits of 1956 was given to every alumnus. In addition, Vera McWilliams Powell made a bouquet of the class flower, pink, white, and blue carnations, for every table. Attendees who wished to were permitted to take one of the bouquets home.

The formal activities were over by 9:15 p.m.

People stayed around talking and reminiscing until approximately 10:45 p.m.

A great time was had by all.
