This is a reminder that the benefit for Ken Burns (See April 7 entry below) being held at the Stancliff Fire hall on Saturday, June 6 from 2 to 6 pm is fast approaching.
We wanted to thank everyone who has donated items for the Chinese auction and for everyone's continued effort in spreading the word about attending this benefit to support such a great guy and his family!
As the big day draws closer and the number of people attending grows, (YAY!) we are asking if there are individuals or businesses who would like to donate non-alcoholic beverages or food platters to help make this benefit a great success?

Death of David Nolan Eaton FLBHS - Class of 1964
David Nolan Eaton, 69, passed away at home, on Saturday, April 11th, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. David was born on January 9, 1946, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Devoted husband, father, Papa and friend, he is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Candace; son, Todd and wife, Kathie; son, Sean and wife, Tammy; granddaughters, Logan and Eryn; grandsons, Kyle and Connor; brother, Brad and wife, Debbie; brother, Scott and wife, Donna; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
David grew up in Summit, Pennsylvania, where he earned his journeyman tool and die maker papers, before moving to Southern California in 1969. He held positions at several different shops, and early in his career, traveled extensively abroad to service machines. He served on the board of the NTMA and was an integral part of the apprentice program. He was a beloved mentor to many in the field and will be greatly missed.
David was a master craftsman, accomplished in both woodworking and stained glass. He excelled at making crosses and other wooden gifts and furniture for his family and friends. His grandchildren were thrilled to play with handmade rubber band guns and other ingenious toys, like the hover craft he made when they were young. He also crafted beautiful stained glass windows, kaleidoscopes and other creations that are treasured by those with whom he shared them.
A lifelong United Methodist, he often put his talents to work for the church, building crosses, eight foot diameter wreath holders, altar tables and other items to support the church's ministry. Many pastors and church families benefited from his gifts and graces over his lifetime. He also enjoyed being a part of United Methodist Men, most recently as part of the men's book club at FFUMC, where he shared his insight and wisdom at early morning breakfast meetings.
David was an avid airplane enthusiast and had both his small plane and commercial pilot's licenses. As a special treat, he often flew his family over the Grand Canyon, creating cherished memories for them. He enjoyed traveling to air shows, and was an active member of the Trabuco Flyers Air Club for the past several years. In addition to flying planes, he spent countless happy hours using his skilled workmanship to build them from the ground up.
One of David's other passions was playing Santa Claus for family parties at Christmastime. Many children in his family and extended family sat on his knee each year, asking for their favorite toys and goodies. Although he sometimes had a gruff exterior,David had a heart of gold and was known by many to melt at the sound of a loved one's voice on the other end of the phone. His compassion, meticulous nature, good heart and loving soul will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Funeral services to celebrate David's life will be held on Tuesday, April 21st at 10:00 a.m., at Fullerton First United Methodist Church, 114 N. Pomona Ave., Fullerton, California, 92832.
